Who We Are ?

On 15th April 2017, a Consortium of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) has been formed at Bhubaneswar (Odisha), coinciding with the Call for Development by the Central Government in the 283 Backward Districtsof India, spread across in 25 States and 1 Union Territory.
The Consortium will be called as “Vikash Samukhya”, taking the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as its targets to develop the Backward Districts of the country that will substantially contribute to fulfil the very ambitious national targets by 2030.
The Consortium has started its Odisha State Chapter on the same day, as 26 out of 30 Districts of the state are designated as Backward Districts, and the state will take a long time to meet its set targets of 17 Goals (SDGs) within the desired timeframe.
The Odisha State Chapter will be led by 5 Zonal Partners (North, East, West, South & Central) with a CSO Lead in each district. The Consortium has started functioning on the very first day of its formation in the state with an integrated development approach, and taking into consideration of quality, accountability and sustainability as its core themes. The State Chapter will be led by OMRAHS, with its Secretariat at AIHMS- Odisha Office at Bhubaneswar.
The County Coordinating Office will be based at AIHMS-Delhi for now and will be coordinated by its Founder & Director: Prof (Dr) Surendra Kumar Mishra
